Canada's Express Entry system is an online immigration application process for skilled workers aiming to settle in Canada permanently. Its a points based immigration system where applicants are entered into the express entry pool and the highest scoring applicants are accepted.
The points/scoring system is called the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). Applicants are ranked on factors such as:
Age
Education
Proficiency in English or French
Work Experience (Both in Canada and overseas)
Skill Transferability
Adaptability
The higher the CRS score the more likely the applicant will receive a Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency. To see recent draw history and calculate your CRS score download the ImmiGreat App on the App and Google Play store!
The applicant must also be eligible for one of the main economic immigration programs:
1. Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSW)
The Federal Skilled Worker Program is for applicants who qualify based on their work experience in an occupation deemed skilled. There are also FSW points after 67 you are eligible to apply under this program. The FSW score is different from the CRS score. You can calculate your FSW score above!
2. Federal Skilled Trades Program (FST)
The Federal Skilled Trade Program is for applicants who are qualified in a skilled trade. Skilled trades in Canada include occupations like:
General Trades (Plumbers, Carpenters, etc.)
